Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a Centre Manager within UCD School of Computer Science

UCD is a European leader in Data Analytics. Nationally we host flagship collaborative programmes under Science Foundation Ireland's Research Centres programmes and Enterprise Ireland/IDA's Technology Centre programme. We work with industry partners to develop projects within these programmes and under separate funding streams from the European Commission, Enterprise Ireland, the Irish Research Council, the Health Research Board and others.

The current position is for a Centre Manager to lead the delivery of the SFI Centre for Research Training in Machine Learning (ML-Labs). Founded in 2019, the centre is an internationally connected and globally recognised Centre for Research Training (CRT), specialising in machine learning, and designed to address the urgent industry demand for ML talent.

The centre currently hosts 100 PhD candidates and will train 120 academically outstanding, industry-ready PhD graduates over five cohorts over its lifetime. These graduates will be future leaders managing the disruption that machine learning is causing across industry and society, and will strengthen the reputation of Ireland as a global hub for machine learning education, research, and application.

The centre is a collaboration between University College Dublin (UCD), Dublin City University (DCU), and the Technological University of Dublin (TUD). It brings together over 90 machine-learning-focused, internationally recognised supervisors who work at the cutting-edge of machine learning research and its application. Students benefit from a world-class, inter-institutional programme in a mature interdisciplinary environment that emphasises state-of-the-art research with an industry-relevant and entrepreneurial focus.

The position is a 4.5-year position.

Salary Range: 50,000 - 60,000 per annum

Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience, and in line with UCD HR salary regulations.
