Reporting to the Maynooth Access Programme (MAP) Student Advisory Manager, we are seeking an Assistive Technology Student Advisor who will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of inclusive enabling assistive/educational technology supporting the access, retention and success of students that have low participation in Higher Education (HE). The role involves working with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, assessing, delivering, and coordinating a broad range of assistive/educational technology to support students’ learning and success at Maynooth University.
The MAP Assistive Technology Student Advisor role involves raising awareness of educational assistive technology and working on a one-to-one and/or group basis with students to best utilise educational/assistive technology to support their learning. The role also involves referring and signposting students to other appropriate internal and external services. The MAP Assistive Technology Student Advisor role also involves moderating and creating content and resources for MAP student platforms to enhance the digital skills and wellbeing of students.
The MAP Assistive Technology Student Advisor role has a specific responsibility for supporting students with disabilities. In line with our commitments to addressing intersectionality and to integrating technology and learning to support an inclusive approach to all student learning, the role involves working with all underrepresented groups, including students from socio-economically disadvantaged areas, mature students, further education award holders, lone parents, refugees and protection applicants, care-experienced students, and Traveller and Roma students studying at the university.
The MAP Assistive Technology Student Advisor will participate in and contribute to the MAP Student Advisory Service and to relevant areas of MAP strategic and operational planning and delivery. The MAP Assistive Technology Student Advisor is based in a consolidated Student Advisory Service and is part of a broader team which includes outreach and student support professionals, technical, clinical, and administrative staff.
Senior Executive Assistant: €41,591– €51,081 p.a. pro-rata (7 points)
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
