The School of Social Work and Social Policy offers social work education via the Bachelor in Social Studies (BSS) and the Master in Social Work (MSW). This post is to directly support these flagship social work programmes as well as the other undergraduate & postgraduate offerings within the School.

Candidates must hold a PhD in the social sciences (either completed or submitted by the   time of commencement of the post). They also must hold a professional qualification in   social work and are registered, or are eligible to register, as a social worker with CORU, Health and Social Care Professional Regulator Ireland. Appointees will be expected to contribute significantly to the research output and teaching programmes of the School. They will have, or show clear potential of having, relative to career stage, a track record in research, including high impact scholarship    and     international publications; teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level; administrative and managerial skills.  The successful candidate will be joining a vibrant and collegiate team with an established track record in social work education, social work research and cross disciplinary domestic and international research activity.

Candidates should have excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Post status: 2 Year Fixed Term

Salary: Appointment will be made on the Lecturer Salary Scale at a point in line with Government Pay Policy [€36,369 to €88,616 per annum pro-rata 0.7 FTE]. Appointment will be made no higher than point [8] [i.e. €51,423] http://www.tcd.ie/hr/assets/pdf/monthly_academic.pdf .
