Post Summary

The Trinity Centre for Global Health is an interdisciplinary centre, co-located between the Schools of Medicine and Psychology that boasts an active research and postgraduate teaching portfolio. The MSc Global Health shares multiple modules with its sister course, the MSc Global Mental Health, and the successful applicant is expected to work closely with the Director of the MSc Global Mental Health to ensure the successful running and efficient expansion of both courses.

TCGH’s postgraduate programmes attract students from Africa, North America, the Middle-East, Europe, and Asia, with diverse professional backgrounds.

The Trinity Centre for Global Health requires a candidate to support and lead cutting-edge research, to direct the MSc Global Health curricula, as well as to support students in the form of offering pastoral care, academic supervision, and mentorship.

The successful applicant will be expected to take on the director or the course coordinator role for the MSc in Global Health; an interdisciplinary postgraduate one-year (full time) taught programme housed within the Trinity Centre for Global Health (TCGH) with an annual intake of approximately 20 students.

The post holder will guide the development and growth of the MSc in Global Health in partnership with other taught postgraduate programmes in the Centre (i.e., MSc Global Mental Health).

The successful applicant will have an established record of postgraduate and undergraduate teaching and a strong track-record of research in the field of Global Health. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching and research activities of both the Trinity Centre for Global Health and the School of Medicine.

This specific purpose contract is to backfill the role of an Assistant Professor who is moving to another Faculty at Trinity to cover a career break.

Salary:

This appointment will be made on the Lecturer Salary Scale (Trinity Title – Assistant Professor) (€37,960 - €92,187) commensurate with qualifications / experience and at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
