ROLE SUMMARY

The Team Leader, Global Medical Content Writing Services within the Global & US Medical Channel Content organization is responsible for leading an offshore medical writing team accountable for creating global medical channel content across all Pfizer therapeutic are as and medicin es , including abstracts, manuscripts, congress presentations, plain language summaries, slide decks, and other types of external-facing medical content

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee an offshore team responsible for d evelop i n g global medical channel content across all Pfizer therapeutic areas and medicines : Primary Care, Specialty Care, Vaccines, and Oncology .
  • Optimize content writing capabilities for all relevant medical affairs content, including abstracts, manuscripts, congress presentations , plain language summaries, s lide decks , and other types of external-facing medical content
  • Lead offshoring and in-sourcing of medical content generation and other medical affairs activities , serving as single point of contact for relevant offshoring implementation efforts
  • Ensure harmonization of medical content generation activities from global and international teams to medical content activities assigned to offshore team
  • Drive development of tools and processes , including new generative AI technology platforms, that ensure efficient and compliant execution of all medical affairs content created by the offshore team
  • Manage stakeholder expectations around impact of outsourcing , change management , risks, and mitigation strategies
  • Monitor progress of medical content writing capabilities and impact of content developed to continually refine plans and capabilities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Bachelors degree and 15+ years experience in pharmaceutical medicine, including medical affairs, medical compliance, and management experience; Masters and 13+ years; PharmD/PHD and 8+ years
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working in cross-functional business environment.
  • Proven leadership in managing people and projects both directly and via a matrixed or indirect leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to quickly build rapport and credibility with Pfizer leaders and key external stakeholders cross culturally/regionally.
  • E xperience in publication planning/ writing in academic settings/ communications experience within an agency, CRO, Pharma / Biotech Company.
  • Effective English verbal and written communication with flexibility to be clear, consistent, compliant, and appropriate for a variety of settings
  • Demonstrate ability to d rive transformational change , l ead teams and engage diverse stakeholders , and u nderstand the applications of technology to medical content development

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced scientific degree preferred, ( eg , MS, PharmD )
  • Expertise in assigned therapeutic areas

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $205,400.00 to $342,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
