Faculty position in Sport Science

The Department of Sports Science at Reykjavik University offers a full-time faculty position in Sport Science or related fields. The position can range from Assistant Professor to Full Professor, depending on the current qualifications and position of the applicant. According to university regulations, promotion to a higher rank is subject to a formal assessment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research in sports science or related fields
  • Teaching courses within the sports science department
  • Supervision of students at all levels of study
  • Participation in the department´s administration
  • Involvement in projects the department is working on in collaboration with the sports community in Iceland

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Ph.D. in Sports Science or a related field
  • Relevant research experience documented by peer-reviewed publications in international academic journals
  • Teaching experience at university level and ambition for excellence in teaching
  • Excellent English proficiency is a precondition
  • Good interpersonal skills, initiative and ability to work independently
  • Willingness to work in a team of teachers and scientists
