The Department of Biology in the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Iceland seeks engaging and motivated applicants for a position of assistant professor in Marine Biology, Fish biology or Fisheries Sciences. The assistant professor is expected to develop courses in marine and fisheries science at the Bachelor level and participate in a joint Master program with the Marine and freshwater Institute in Iceland and to conduct research in this area of science. This is a tenure-track position with an option of an appointment of five years. A successful applicant with sufficient qualifications is eligible to apply for promotion to associate or full professorship upon appointment. In addition to research, the successful applicant is expected to supervise MSc and PhD students, attract third-party funding, teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, and participate actively in departmental activities.
