The Front Office Services of the Central European University invites applications for a part-time (20 hrs/week) Receptionist position at its Vienna Campus. This team manages CEU reception desks and acts as the first point of contact for visitors or anyone entering or calling CEU campus in Vienna.

The new Receptionist will work in Vienna with the following shifts:

  • Monday-Friday: 9.00-13.00 or 15.00-19.00 (20 hrs/week).

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assisting visitors/community members and providing an efficient service to them in person or by phone
  • Having a sound knowledge of the University and its activities, of campus facilities and information about events
  • Managing CEU ID card system
  • Administering Visitor ID cards
  • Registering guests, informing their host
  • Assisting at events
  • Cooperating with all units and with security services
  • Handling incoming postal shipment
  • Handling common email account

 

Qualifications and skills

  • High school degree at least
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated work experience in a similar position is an advantage but not a must
  • Appropriate communication style and proficiency in English and in German, while demonstrating professionalism, a diplomatic style of communication, and patience
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure with strong time and stress management skills
  • Good IT skills, proficient with MS Office Excel
  • Friendly, communicative, diplomatic, welcoming, organized, hands-on attitude
  • Strong organizational skills, and a detail-oriented mind-set
  • Proactive approach to problem solving, ability to improvise
