More about Science Shop:

Science Shop invites citizens and civil society organizations to submit research questions to the university that can be pursued by students who are eager to do good through their studies. It can be an academic or an everyday, applied research question that adds value to their work, and through that, advance public good.

The partner organization benefits from the input of the students as well as the academic knowledge of the lecturers guiding them. The university benefits from making education more relevant by bringing real-life, impactful projects into the classroom.

There are many ways a request can become a project; the most typical ones are course projects, internships, or thesis projects.

Science Shop is a matchmaker, it stimulates partnership, offers coordination and support. The collaborations serve the partners as well as CEU, and give opportunity for co-creation and mutual learning. Science Shop focuses solely on the not-for-profit and public sectors, and advocates for teaching practices that harmonize learning objectives with the needs of the community partner.
