The Central European University (CEU) invites applications for a Part-Time (20 hours/week) Administrative Project Coordinator position at the Department of Public Policy (DPP) at the Vienna Campus.  


Background:

 DPP is a multi-disciplinary graduate institution committed to the values of open society and creating strong and flexible links between research and practice as one way of responding to what is, overall, a failure of policy elites to tackle the most urgent problems of our time. The Department offers four master's degrees  in public policy, and the public policy track of the Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science  program. The degree programs are tailored for students from around the world seeking careers in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors at the local, national, European Union and international levels. The Department boasts a team of outstanding resident faculty , world-class visiting faculty made up of top researchers, and practitioners in the public policy field who bring a wide array of academic and practical subjects to DPP's diverse classroom.

The Department has built strategic partnerships with policy actors across the globe while deepening cooperation with the Open Society Foundations  and its networks such as OSUN and CIVICA , within which it is launching new collaborative programs. The new colleague will primarily support these new OSUN programs.


Your duties and responsibilities: 

  • General projects coordination and support
  • Coordinate the admissions process for project participants
  • Liaise with CEU administrative units, such as HR and Finance regarding all administrative matters related to the projects e.g., contracting, invoicing and purchase orders
  • Organize project events, and project-related meetings for partners and stakeholders
  • Keep the projects guides and websites up to date
  • Liaison with OSUN partner institutions on joint affairs
  • Perform data collection, analysis and reporting to the Project Leaders and the Head of Department and faculty

 

Your skills and competencies: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum)
  • At least 3 years of working experience in a position with similar tasks, ideally in higher education
  • High level computer literacy and advanced knowledge of the MS Office suite
  • Financial skills for budgeting and reporting 
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to balance sensitivity towards project stakeholders needs with ensuring project adherence to university policies and guidelines
  • Multicultural orientation and open-mindedness 

 

What we offer:

    We offer a competitive salary starting from gross 40,000 EUR/year (prorated). A higher salary is possible if warranted by the candidate’s working experience.

    The initial contract is for one year with the possibility of renewal.
