The Information Technology Department at Central European University (CEU) invites applications for an IT Support Specialist (L1) position.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality personal, telephone, and email support, in English, to users who are experiencing IT issues (problems with hardware, software, and IT services), as well as ensuring that all the technical equipment works perfectly in teaching facilities (classrooms, meeting rooms, auditorium) and during internal events.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Installs maintain IT assets and administer their life cycle.
• Acts as an intermediary/primary contact person between users and IT support, collects and records data in the Helpdesk ticketing system.
• Provides feedback to their supervisor on the typical problems and inquiries that users experience and contributes to the continuous improvement of local IT processes and administrative procedures.
• Provides support with routine problem cases for users online, via phone and in-person, on general technical and presentation-related matters. The candidate will provide IT support with videoconferences, streaming and recording, and audio operation systems on campus during various internal events.
• Introduces users to the proper handling of interactive displays, wireless content sharing, room controls, online and video conferencing platforms, web base video repository, and digital signage displays for classroom booking info.
• Prepares documentation, tutorials, and how-to materials.
• Offers training and consultancy opportunities.

 

Qualifications & Skills

• Secondary school diploma or a BA degree.
• Proven work experience in an office environment and/or in a support function.
• Good communication skills in English (at least intermediate level).
• Excellent IT skills (Windows, Office, basic network, and hardware skills).
• Accuracy and proactivity.
• Ability to organize own workload.

 

Compensation

We offer a starting gross salary of 35,000 EUR which is commensurate with experience as well as a dynamic and international academic environment.
