Central European University (CEU) is seeking a highly experienced digital media expert and systems thinker to join our Communications team to revamp the infrastructure for and presentation of CEU content on digital channels. The Communications Office is responsible for elevating CEU’s profile and position as a highly ranked, uniquely international, research-intensive institution dedicated to the principles of open society. It does this by strategically communicating the University’s achievements to key audiences through a variety of channels and in cooperation with other units. Part of CEU’s new External Relations division, Communications is responsible for amplifying the impact of the CEU community and brand via the University’s digital presence, storytelling, marketing, media relations, and internal communications. 

This role will be based at the University’s Vienna Campus. Home working is permitted.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Reorganizing the flow of content for various external audiences and systematizing the underpinning data and digital assets
  • Review CEU websites, leading and coordinating efforts to ensure consistently high-quality content, presentation, and timeliness
  • Support the organization and maintenance of a smooth flow of content preparation, from ideation to publication and follow-up, to get the most out of each piece of content
  • Select and work with external service providers for web management and design
  • Provide site building assistance to colleagues working with web content and infrastructure

 

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in managing nonprofit digital communications, or most desirably, mission-driven academic institutions
  • Experience in managing data systems and/or digital communications for at least 3-5 years
  • Project management experience in culturally diverse organizations / environments
  • Experience in managing communications and marketing of organizations on a regional level, or in geographically expansive organizations
  • Superb English-language editing and writing skills (native or near-native level)
  • Ideally, fluent German
  • Tech-savvy, with excellent visual communication and presentation skills and ability to deploy these on multiple channels
  • Experience in change management
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with experience in coordinating multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, in keeping with CEU policy and operational standards

 

Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary starting from a gross annual salary of 40,000 EUR for full-time (pro-rated in case of part-time), as well as a dynamic and international academic environment. A higher salary is possible if warranted by the candidate’s working experience. Home working is permitted.

The initial contract is for one year with the possibility of renewal.
