CEU’s Summer University (SUN) invites applications for a Coordinator position in Budapest. 

SUN is the extension of the university’s mission of promoting research, teaching and social engagement by hosting high-level, research-oriented, interdisciplinary, and innovative academic courses as well as workshops on policy issues for professional development in the social sciences and the humanities. Courses, taught by a team of distinguished international faculty (including CEU professors), are advertised worldwide to attract graduate students, junior or post-doctoral researchers, teachers and professionals.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Organizes and manages events and receptions
  • Assists participants and faculty in visa application
  • Takes care of website functions and social media profiles
  • Administers course participants' applications for financial aid
  • Communicates and coordinates with participants and academic staff, Handles common email account
  • Assists Deputy Director in procurement, handles purchase orders, invoicing, manages payments , checks financial reports
  • Completes archiving and record keeping tasks, assists the director in preparing the report for the SUN Board (prepares tables, files, course profiles, etc.)
  • Works in designated databases (participant database, integrated financial and HRO database, website building app, etc.), enters data and updates them
  • Keeps stock of office supply and places orders when necessary
  • Manages agendas/appointments/travel arrangements, arranges meetings
  • Cooperates with other units within CEU

Skills and competencies

  • Education: Bachelors or MA degree or equivalent
  • Work experience is not required but is an advantage and may be  reflected in the salary
  • Advanced level English (verbal and written)
  • Good organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
  • Strong team player attitude
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience in Website building and/or experience with working in integrated databases is an advantage
