We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Community of Practice (CoP) Facilitator for the GenderSAFE project.

On GenderSAFE

GenderSAFE is a 3-year Horizon-Europe project with the objective of contributing to building safe, inclusive and respectful research and higher education environments, with zero-tolerance to gender-based violence. This will be realised through evidence-based capacity-building, mutual learning and exchange, and promoting the uptake of policies at the level of the Research Performing Organizations, Research Funding Organizations and national authorities.

On the Community of Practice (CoP)

The GenderSAFE CoP is a social learning environment aimed at fostering empowerment by supporting participants, through facilitated co-creation and exchange activities, in introducing or enhancing gender-based violence-related policies in their institutions and practically testing the zero-tolerance code of conduct developed in the project. Beyond CoP-level activities, five smaller, complementary, CoP circles will be set up based on participants’ needs and preferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cooperate in the development of the CoP Roadmap.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to draft CoP guidelines, including gender+/feminist ethical rules of conduct, to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Launch calls for participation, targeting umbrella organisations and building on existing communities of practice (GENDERACTIONplus, ACT, UniSAFE, INSPIRE).
  • Recruit and actively engage CoP members, with a focus on inclusivity and representation from diverse backgrounds.
  • Assist in the establishment of complementary CoP circles and provide support for their effective functioning.
  • Schedule and coordinate regular bilateral meetings between Circle facilitators and leaders, as well as group meetings for all facilitators and leaders to monitor progress, provide support, and foster mutual exchange.
  • Cooperate in the leading and facilitation of CoP activities, including mutual learning sessions, exchange activities, and practical testing of tools developed by the project.
  • Provide ongoing support in using the MIRO platform for mutual learning and co-creation activities.
  • Engage CoP members in refining and testing the EU baseline code of conduct on zero-tolerance towards gender-based violence.
  • Support testing institutions in adjusting the code to their specific contexts, providing expertise and consultation.
  • Co-create guidelines and operational tools for additional organisations to engage with the code of conduct.

Qualifications

  • Master's or higher degree in social sciences field (law, public policy, sociology, gender studies or similar).
  • Full proficiency in English (speaking and writing). Knowledge of any other EU official language is an asset.
  • Proven experience in facilitating communities of practice or similar collaborative learning environments.
  • Familiarity with UniSAFE project outputs and with international law on gender-based violence (CEDAW, Istanbul convention, EU directives).
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Advantage

  • Previous experience in EU-funded projects related to gender-based violence and/or gender mainstreaming.
  • Good understanding of survivor-centered and intersectional approach to gender-based violence, particularly in higher education and research institutions.
  • Training experience.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary starting from a gross of 49,000 EUR/year (pro-rated). A higher salary is possible if warranted by the candidate’s working experience.

This is a part-time position (50%-60%), starting on the 1st of March 2024 for 36 months. The role will require occasional travel.
