Our Institute of Strategy and Management is looking for an Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor for a 3-year contract. It is a vibrant, academic community with five departments.

The successful candidate will join the Department of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Development (OBHRD). Faculty at OBHRD conducts multidisciplinary research inspired by multiple theoretical approaches ranging from positivist to interpretive and critical paradigms and apply qualitative and quantitative methods. We are dedicated to research, student learning, and teaching a wide range of courses within human resource management, organizational behaviour and organisation theory.

Our master’s programme in Management and Leadership is ranked among the Financial Times' best master's in management programs.

The starting date in this position is the autumn semester of 2024.

Key duties: 

  • Teaching duties:
    • Teaching English language courses/classes in organisational behaviour, human resource management, and related fields at both undergraduate and graduate levels (knowledge of Hungarian is not required)
    • The teaching load is 10-12 hours per week including supervision of student's thesis work (BA and MA level)
  • Research duties:
    • Conducting research in the field of organisational behaviour and related topics such as diversity and inclusion, leadership, identity, and human resource development
    • Publishing in high-quality journals and taking part in international conferences
    • Taking part in international research team(s)
  • Service duties:
    • Participation in PhD, MSc and BSc administrative duties (final and comprehensive exams, supervisory activities). 

Essential qualifications and experience: 

  • PhD (or is close to completing) in Business and Management or related fields from an internationally recognised university
  • Ideally, minimum 3 years of teaching and/or research experience gained in higher education
  • Publication track record (or strong publication potential) in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals

Desirable criteria:

  • Ability to leverage innovative pedagogy to deliver high-quality classes in English
  • Engaged scholarship in interpretive and critical approaches
  • Experience in international research projects
  • PhD obtained at a university with a remarkable international ranking (ARWU, QS)
