Central European University (CEU) has an exciting opportunity for a driven, enthusiastic, and pro-active professional to join us as Alumni Relations Manager. The role will focus on managing the relationship with the university's 18,000+ alumni, including a wide network of 90+ alumni chapters, and acting as a bridge between them and the university.

 

In this role you would report to the Executive Director, External Relations

 

Your duties and responsibilities:  

Assist leadership in developing an annual alumni relations strategy, goals and metrics and promote the value of alumni relations throughout the University and in the communities we serve in Vienna, Budapest and globally.

  • Manage all global and local alumni online and in-person events, including:
  • Reconfiguring and redeveloping CEU’s full range of alumni engagement activities based on current best practice in the field and within a rapidly changing environment for higher education worldwide
  • Reconsidering and streamlining CEU’s alumni engagement program and considering the best means interact with and recognize alumni for their efforts on behalf of the University
  • Developing and implementing a renewed concept for CEU’s annual alumni reunion and Alumni Leadership Forum (ALF), as well as regular programming to more deeply engage alumni and offer regular, innovative opportunities to showcase their talents and successes
  • Oversee and grow the global network of 90+ alumni local chapters; support chapter leaders in their efforts to build community and assist them in developing and implementing successful programming in line with CEU’s alumni relations strategy and student recruitment objectives
  • Manage all alumni communications in partnership with the Alumni Records Coordinator and develop narrative for fundraising appeals and develop unique and engaging updates and communications for the CEU website and social media
  • Work with the Alumni Records Coordinator to reinvent and manage the CEU alumni benefits program
  • Coordinate all alumni events and initiatives with full key CEU stakeholders (e.g., Strategic Outreach, Student Recruitment, Career Services and other units and academic departments)

 

Your skills and qualifications:

 

  • Exceptional English language verbal and written communication skills
  • Exemplary time-management and planning skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills, with deep attention to detail  
  • 3-4 years’ experience in fundraising, alumni engagement, and/or higher education marketing is required
  • Communications, digital media, and/or marketing experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email marketing tools such as Constant Contact, Mail Chimp; experience with CRM tools, including Raiser’s Edge, is an advantage, as is the ability to leverage emerging technologies to improve outcomes
  • Ability to building relationships and networks with diverse alumni and stakeholders to advance development and alumni strategies

We offer a competitive salary starting from gross 53,000 EUR/year. A higher salary is possible if warranted by the candidate’s working experience.
