Team Lead (Research Enhancement) (1 post)/Supervisory Research Enhancement Editor (1 post)/Research Enhancement Editor (2 posts, one in English and one in Chinese) in the Research Grants and Contracts Office [Ref. A/743/09] 

The Office is building the Research Enhancement Team. Its functions revolve around three core areas including capacity development, grant proposal and related support, and research enhancement support. 

Duties 

The Team Lead will provide high-level research consulting services to faculty, researchers and senior management, supervise a team of Editors to support faculty and researchers by editing grant proposals and research assessment submissions. 

Requirements 

A PhD degree with excellent communication skills and native-level proficiency in English; strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

Candidates for the posts of Team Lead and Supervisory Enhancement Editor should possess ideally, at least 15 years and 10 years of relevant experience respectively with good management, leadership and mentoring ability. Experience in substantive scientific editing and capacity building is essential. 

Candidates for the post of Research Enhancement Editor should possess ideally, at least 5 years of editing experience, and be able to work independently and collaboratively in the Team with minimal supervision. Ability to synthesise complex data and concepts is preferred. For the Chinese Editor, native level proficiency in Chinese and knowledge of Mainland China research grants and awards would be an advantage. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test. 

Salary and Conditions of Service 

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
