Project Assistant

[Appointment period: ten months]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the project - “AIR Soma: developing a new AI capability for training humanoid robots in real-world interaction using a digital twin platform”.  The appointee will be required to:

(a)    integrate humanoid robot systems across perception, navigation, dialogue and action modules;

(b)    build digital twin scenes in Isaac Sim and develop conversational interaction using LLM;

(c)    implement software and AI functions (e.g., object recognition, LLM);

(d)    conduct system testing, data acquisition, parameter logging and troubleshooting; and

(e)    perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a recognised degree in a discipline related to robotics development, such as Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or an equivalent qualification;

(b)    solid experience in software development, including C++ and Python;

(c)    solid experience in digital twin development, including 3D modelling and NVIDIA Omniverse / Isaac Sim;

(d)    solid experience in AI application development, including AI avatars using local and cloud-based LLMs, and NVIDIA Jetson systems; and

(e)    a good command of both written and spoken English.

Preference will be given to those with experience working in a multinational or multicultural team environment.
