Non-Clinical Assistant or Associate Professorships

In 2015, the Foundation agreed to support the development of translational immunology in Hong Kong and announced the establishment, in partnership with the two medical faculties in Hong Kong, of a separate scheme to support the recruitment of non-clinical assistant or associate professors for a period of three years to either the School of Biomedical Sciences (with an attachment to the Department of Medicine) or the School of Public Health (with an attachment to the School of Biomedical Sciences).

The new appointment(s) will be made within the organisational framework of the two medical faculties of CUHK and HKU, as independent positions with an appropriate level of support (seniority, reporting structure, decision-making authority, financial responsibility, etc.).

The appointment(s) will attract a contract-end gratuity and a contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, as well as annual leave and medical/dental benefits. Housing benefits, or a monthly cash allowance subject to the Rules on Prevention of Double Benefits on Housing, will be provided as appropriate.

Interested applicants are requested to contact the two medical faculties direct.

Croucher Startup 2.0

The Foundation recently introduced a new funding initiative for all Croucher award recipients at any career stage who wish to use their scientific and technological expertise to set up companies with linkages with Hong Kong. All Croucher award recipients from any year may apply. Successful applicants will receive a grant of up to HK$1 million from the Croucher Foundation payable to their company. The initiative supports founders at the earliest stage. Award recipients already receiving seed funding or early stage venture capital from other sources are not encouraged to apply.
