Applications are invited for appointment as Associate Professor of Practice or Senior Lecturer or Lecturer (Specialised in Digital Fabrication) in the Department of Architecture for the Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design Programme (Ref. 526217), to commence on September 1, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a one-year full-time appointment, with the possibility of renewal. 

The Department of Architecture is internationally recognised as one of the world's most reputable architectural schools.  The Department prides itself on providing a rigorous and dynamic research environment, with scholars and professionals who have a diversity of research interests.  The Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design is a postgraduate programme.  Students and teachers research, design, and construct on-site collectively in a full-time, one-year, three-trimester programme to implement experimental building practices with local communities. Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Architecture, specialised in digital fabrication and hands-on making skills.  They should be proficient in using computer-controlled fabrication machinery, including laser cutters, CNC milling machine, and 3D printers, and have experience using traditional wood and metal workshop machinery and power tools as well as robotic fabrication.  Subject to their prior experience, the job title and salary offered may be adjusted accordingly.

The appointee is expected to teach design and elective courses about fabrication.  Besides teaching duties, the appointee will support the programme by developing a fabrication workshop and being involved in pedagogical development.
