The Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences (THWS) is one of the largest practice-oriented universities in Bavaria and covers a wide range of subjects in the fields of technology, social and economic sciences, design and languages. We support around 9,300 students in more than 50 degree courses on their educational path. We respond to societal challenges such as the energy transition or the climate crisis with an innovative and international range of courses. For example, we were pioneers in the design of bilingual degree courses (TWIN degree courses), the establishment of the first undergraduate degree course in hydrogen technology and the software-centered degree course in robotics. Digitalization is also an important focus for our university. As part of the Bavarian High-Tech Agenda, the Free State of Bavaria is currently investing heavily in the further expansion of our university as part of the Bavarian AI network. For example, a Center for Strong Artificial Intelligence is being established at the Würzburg site and a Center for Robotics at the Schweinfurt site.
