The Faculty of Law, Management and Economics invites applications for the position of
University Professor of Private Law and Labor Law
beginning on April 1st, 2025.
Salary grade W 3 LBesG | Civil servant (tenured)

Tasks and expectations:
We are looking for a candidate who is an expert in the fields of Private Law and Labor Law both in research and teaching. The candidate must be familiar with digital teaching and to be prepared to apply innovative methods of teaching and learning. In addition, the successful candidate should be interested in contributing to the further internationalization of the Faculty of Law, Management and Economics. We expect the candidate to engage in academic self-administration.

Requirements:

  • In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in Section 49 of the Hochschulgesetz (University Act) of Rhineland-Palatinate.
  • In addition to a doctorate, proof of excellent academic achievements is required.

The state of Rhineland-Palatinate and JGU are committed to close personal mentoring of students and therefore expect teaching staff to have a strong presence at the university. A cooperative, team-oriented and proactive work attitude, strong communication skills, and the willingness to assume responsibility – including further professional development in accordance with JGU’s leadership guidelines – is also expected.
