The Department of Psychology at the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg invites applications for a

PhD Position in Mathematical Modeling and Cognitive Psychology (Salary 65% E13 TV-L)

for 3 years starting in October 2019.

This is a research position in the area of mathematical modeling in experimental cognitive research. During the first year, the successful candidate will develop a dissertation project on recognition memory, reasoning, social cognition, multinomial modeling, or response-time modeling together with Prof. Dr. Karl Christoph Klauer. In the second and third year, the project will be conducted with a specific focus on the statistical and psychometric modeling of cognitive processes. The position may include a small amount of teaching introductory seminars in psychology.

The successful candidate will participate in the training program of the Research Training Group “Statistical Modeling in Psychology” (SMiP) funded by the DFG. The SMiP group is a transregional collaboration of twelve renowned researchers at five German universities with an international network of instructors and partner institutions (see http://smip.uni-mannheim.de ). The position at the University of Freiburg is one of the PhD positions in the SMiP cohort 2019.
