Your tasks
- Research tasks within a third-party funded project (92 %), especially:
- Design of recombinant enzymes with
protein engineering tools applying
molecular modelling methods
- Development of analytical methods
(HPLC, GC) to characterize enzymatic
reactions with respect to conversion
and analysis of enantiomers
- Process development of biotrans-
formation reactions
- Combination of biocatalysts with
chemo-catalysts to establish chemo-
enzymatic one-pot reactions
- Teaching duties supervising practical courses (8 %)

Your profile
We expect
- Excellent scientific degree, e.g. master in biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular
biotechnology, molecular biology, chemistry or related disciplines
- Excellent theoretical skills and in-Depth practical experience in the preparation of recombinant enzymes and their characterisation
- Experience in application of enzymes in biotransformation reactions
- Excellent German or English language skills
- Good team work and cooperative style of work
- Willingness to present scientific results on conferences and to publish in scientific journals

Preferable qualifications
- Practical experience in Analytical methods (NMR, GC, HPLC), especially in analysis of enantiomers
- Knowledge and practical experience in protein engineering
- Experience in molecular modelling
- Experience with working in project teams

Remuneration
Salary will be paid according to Remuneration level 13 of the Wage Agreeent for Public Service in the Federal States (TV-L). The contract will end after three years. The employment is designed to encourage further academic qualification. The position is advertised as 67 % part-time job.
