What you will do

Your thesis will revolve around the design and evaluation of a mobile phone interface that simplifies medical reports for patients. The interface must be highly adaptable, catering to the unique needs of users in terms of terminology, sentence construction, and topic structuring. You will integrate interactive features such as a preference selection mechanism or LLM-based document chats to enhance user engagement. A critical aspect of your work will be conducting user evaluations to determine if the interface effectively aids patients in understanding their medical reports more clearly.
The topic is suitable for bachelor or master thesis.

What you bring to the table

  • enrolled student in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Media Informatics, Medical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proficient in programming, with a focus on mobile development platforms like Flutter and web technologies.
  • A strong grasp of natural language processing techniques. 
  • Experience with scientific research methodologies and user-centered design.
  • Fluent in German and English
