Offer Description
The Cluster of Excellence ROOTS at Kiel University is at the earliest possible date offering a position as Technical Assistant in the Thin Section Laboratory.
Working hours: 38,7 hours (100%) Salary: up to pay grade E 9a TV-L
Your tasks:
- Assistance with the planning and construction of the thin-section laboratory
- Preparation and management of thin-section samples
- General laboratory management, such as ordering supplies for example
Your profile:
- Completed professional education as a technical assistant or laboratory technician (including final examination) with commensurate skills and experience, or a first professional qualification in a related field
- Knowledge in rock thin section production and petrography
- Good knowledge of standard software (Excel, LAX, Omnic)
- Good German (at least B1) and English (at least B1) language skills, both spoken and written
Soft skils:
- High organization skills
- Ability to learn new inventory management software
