The Department for Crop Sciences, Division of Plantbreeding Methodology of the Georg-August-University Göttingen is offering a position at the next possible point in time as a

Teacher for Special Tasks (w/f/d)
- salary group 13 TV-L –

with 100% of the regular weekly working time (39,8 hours weekly) for a two-year duration (§ 14 (2) TzBfG).

The tasks include:
- Teaching plant breeding courses at the bachelors and masters level
- Cooperation with other lecturers teaching related modules and courses, as well as contributing to joint modules and courses
- Planning and management of teaching/demonstration fields for a variety of crops
- Active participation in our Bachelor program in the field of Plant Breeding (organization of excursions and practical sessions, supervision of term papers, correction of exams)
- Planning, co-supervision and supervision of Bachelor and Master theses
- Acquiring and managing teaching-oriented funds awarded from the university, faculty, and/or third parties

Your profile requires:
A Msc in plant breeding or a related field (PhD preferred)
- Positive, encouraging, emphatic attitude towards students
- Very good ability to present and explain an easy-to-understand way
- Thorough knowledge of plant breeding principles
- Experience teaching in the area of plant breeding is desired
- Outstanding spoken, written, and teaching abilities in German and English
- Good competency in statistics, experience with analysis of field trials
- Experience in supervising Bachelor experimental theses is desired
- Experience with independent research and scientific publications is advantageous
