The Professorship in the Politics of Finance (Prof. Dr. Amy Pond) is looking to hire two student research assistants (m/w/d), for 6 to 9 hours per week each, to start as soon as possible.

The research assistants will have the opportunity to work on various different projects in political economy, focused on firm preferences and policy influence and the social media use of politicians. Ideally, one student should have interests and skills compiling and analyzing data; the other student should have interests and skills conducting historical research.


Qualifications
• Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s program in political science, economics, or computer science
(concentration in international political economy, comparative politics, international relations, or quantitative methods is desirable)
• Interest in social science research
• Reliability, commitment, and independence
• Excellent English skills (German is a plus but not necessary)
• Excellent software skills (in particular Stata or R)

Tasks
• Case study research and data coding
• Compiling, cleaning, and working with datasets
• Collecting/scraping text for analysis
• Data visualizations
