The Max-Planck-Institute for Neurobiology of Behaviour – caesar (MPINB) is a neuroethology institute located in Bonn that studies how the collective activity of the vast numbers of interconnected neurons in the brain gives rise to the plethora of animal behaviors. Our research spans a large range of scales from the nano-scale imaging of brain circuitry, to large-scale functional imaging of brain circuitry during behavior, to the quantification of natural animal behaviors.

To assist with data-processing tasks, the Department of Behavior and Brain Organization is looking for several


Student Assistant Data Analysis (m/f/div) - BBO
(flexible hours, up to 20 hrs/week)

to join us at the next possible opportunity. The positions are initially limited to one year.

The job involves assistance with computer-based analysis of oculo-videography movies, and image-based measurement of animal pose and position.



    Your profile

    • You are studying mathematics, medicine or other natural sciences
    • Accuracy, motivation, flexibility, team spirit

    • Flexible working hours (weekly working time max. 20 hrs/week, full-time employment is possible during the semester break)

    • The employment is paid on an hourly basis in line with the Max Planck regulations: 12,41 Euro (Bachelor's student) or 13,03 Euro (Master's student) per hour.
