As part of our project with the start-up testblu, we are looking for a Student Assistant in Bioinformatics to support NGS data analysis, bioinformatics pipeline development, and data preparation for AI-driven interpretation within the CaniSense diagnostic workflow. Be part of change
- Develop and maintain bioinformatics scripts, tools, and analysis pipelines
- Support processing and quality control of sequencing data
- Build and optimize pipelines connecting NGS outputs to AI models
- Support cfDNA, CNV, fragmentomics, and other biomarker-related analyses
- Assist in data preparation, feature extraction, and documentation
- Improve workflow automation and reproducibility
- Document pipelines, analysis steps, and results
What you contribute
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled Master student in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related computational life-science field.
- Experience with Python, NGS data analysis and bioinformatics workflows
- Familiarity with Linux, Git/GitLab, and command-line tools
- Structured and solution-oriented mindset
- Interest in AI-powered diagnostics, genomics, and liquid biopsy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with workflow tools such as Nextflow, Snakemake, or similar
- Familiarity with cfDNA, CNV analysis, variant calling, or fragmentomics
- Experience with R, Bioconductor, pandas, scikit-learn, or bioinformatics libraries
- Understanding of data security and healthcare-related data handling
- Familiarity with Docker or cloud environments is a plus

The position is initially limited to 1 year. An extension is explicitly desired.
The monthly working time is 80 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
