The UMG Medical Data Integration Center (UMG MeDIC) is an independent working group within the Institute for Medical Informatics. The UMG MeDIC is funded by the BMBF as part of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII) in participation in the HiGHmed consortium. The UMG MeDIC is building an infrastructure to support medical research and care through the local and cross-site provision of medical data from routine health care. Following the previous approaches and standards, the development of the technical infrastructure is to be implemented and further developed, and tasks of the MeDIC technical team in coordination with the other the other UMG MeDIC teams.

In addition to the UMG MeDIC, the strongly research-oriented institute bundles its projects and services into the further areas of clinical collaborative research, intersectoral collaborative research and translational research. It cooperates closely with partners from research, care and industry. More than 50 staff members develop and evaluate innovative IT solutions for medical research. One focus is on the provision and operation of internationally usable information/data infrastructures and the sustainable availability of the research data generated in these infrastructures of the research data generated therein in accordance with the FAIR Guiding Principles.

Your tasks:

  • Conceptual advancement and implementation of the integration and exchange platform within the MeDIC and at the interfaces of the MIIs on the basis of international standards such as openEHR, HL7 FHIR and IHE XD*/XDS; associated activities of the development and implementation of methods and infrastructures for data privacy and provenance
  • Process and data modeling using clinical terminologies and data standards
  • The development of applications and data visualization for different target groups
  • The work includes the independent conceptual update, implementation and coordination of the MeDIC-wide and in relation to the use cases specific quality-assured data management
  • Development, evaluation and provision of methods of medical data analysis

Your profile:

  • Master's degree in medical informatics or a comparable course of study
  • Independent and structured way of working in a team
  • Experience of cooperation in IT projects
  • Depending on the focus, knowledge and professional experience in the field of data integration, communication and data standards, data management are desirable
  • Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
  • You have the willingness to take on responsibility and to solve new challenges. solve
