Offer Description

The Department of Population-Based Medicine (PBM) focuses on population health. Our
goal is to better understand the influences of behavioral, environmental, biological, social,
economic, cultural, and psychological factors on health and disease in populations or
population groups to develop better interventions for prevention, health promotion, and
medical care on a broad scale.

We are seeking an outstanding researcher engaged in public health-related research
(population health, epidemiology, biostatistics, medicine, or psychology) at a high
international level. This research should be documented through publications in high-quality journals. The successful candidate is expected to develop an active research
program in population-based medicine with a focus on behavioural factors, chronic
conditions, mental health, stress-related conditions, or digital methods. The candidate is
also expected to play a key role in the development of the department.

The requirements of the position include the completion of a doctorate (PhD, MD, DSc.), at
least one year of postdoc experience, excellent knowledge of English, international
experience, and experience in working with population-based studies. Additional
qualifications in health management, health economics, or digital (mental) health would be
advantageous. We expect leadership skills, the ability to work in international and
interdisciplinary teams, and enthusiasm for teaching. The candidate is expected to supervise
students and research staff and to contribute to teaching in the international M.Sc. program
Population-Based Medicine.
