Offer Description

For the Department of Fish Biology, Fisheries and Aquaculture of IGB in Berlin-Friedrichshagen at Lake Müggelsee we are inviting applications for the position of a scientific coordinator and investigator in a multidisciplinary, federally funded, project, HaffStör, in the Lower Oder River and the Szczecin Lagoon area, starting on 1 May 2024 or shortly thereafter and limited until 31 December 2026.

The work is carried out as part of a multidisciplinary, federally funded, project, HaffStör, which is assessing improved methods of production of fish for recovery measures and the assessment of their population development with a focus on Baltic sturgeons in the Lower Oder and Szczecin Lagoon area. The subproject aims at the identification of means to improve the rearing practice to render fish fit for survival after release through the comparison of the effectiveness of near natural rearing with state of the art RAS rearing, identifying the drivers for fitness and the resulting effects on a population level.
