What you will do

  • Design and simulation of new building blocks (e.g. modulators, photodetectors and passives) for the generic InP Foundry Platform

  • Steering and controlling the foundry wafer processing

  • Research work on existing projects

  • Interacting with industry partners in joint projects

The scientific work offers the possibility of a doctorate.

What you bring to the table

  • A scientific university degree in physics, electrical engineering, or a related subject

  • Knowledge in the field of optics/photonics

  • Knowledge in semiconductor processing

  • Good knowledge of English or German

  • Team spirit, a structured approach to work, and the ability to independently develop ideas for new research activities

The following knowledge is an advantage:

  • Experience in optical or electro-optical simulation tools (e.g. Fimmwave or HFSS)

  • Programming skills in Python

  • Experience in software development and version control software such as Gitlab

The position is initially limited to 2 years. An extension is explicitly desired.

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
