What you will do

  • Conduct research projects on optical communications, application areas include classical and quantum transmissions

  • Development of innovative communication systems for transmission via optical fiber and free beam

  • Use of project results for publications (e.g. conferences), creation of intellectual property, and acquisition of new research projects

What you bring to the table

  • Excellent Master's and/or PhD degree in electrical engineering or physics.

  • Programming skills (e.g., C/C++, Matlab, Python, VHDL, etc.) for system control, data analysis, and simulations

  • Knowledge and experience with optical systems (e.g. optical components, single photon processing, optical propagation, etc.), optical design (e.g. Zemax), and high-frequency electronics

  • Strong personal commitment

  • Ability to work in a team, independently, and autonomously

The position is initially limited to 2 years. An extension is explicitly desired.

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
