The Chair of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (TERM) of the University Clinic Würzburg cooperates closely with the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research (ISC) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Engineering (IBMT) in developing biomedical workflows for the industrial application of induced pluripotent stem cells. In cooperation, we create novel bioreactor systems for an autonomous stem cell culture under high-throughput conditions. Another focus is the design of smart (bio-)material-based scaffolds for stem cell tissue engineering.
To expand our tranlational research team in near-term, we are looking for a
Biochemist or a scientist with similar educational background (f/m/d) in the area of “biomaterial development for stem cell processing”.

Your research tasks are:
- Application and testing of newly synthetic hydrogels for the expansion and differentiation of stem cells
- Functionalisation and biomimetical structuring of hydrogels
- Development and testing of hybrid materials
- Application of hydrogels in 3D printing
- Integration of vascular structures into the hydrogels
- Biological and Physico-chemical material analyses, e. g. SEM, rheology, biocompatibilty assays
- Documentation, evaluation and presentation of the results
- Project management and supervision of technical staff
- Supervision of students (bachelor, master, doctoral fellows)
- Publication of the results in scientific journal and presentation on international conferences
