As part of the third-party funded project "Guide to Data Sharing of Imaging Trials (GUIDE-IT)", funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), we are researching digital transformation in the field of health as part of a research group at the Department of Information Systems, especially the Professorship of Business Administration, Information and Organization.

Thus, we work with current approaches from the fields of business administration and information systems research, especially on the topics of the platform economy, data-based business models, IT entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and digital health regarding the development, setup, and later scaling of a digital research platform of radiology.

GUIDE-IT is a collaborative project with a total of four research partners: Prof. Dewey and Prof. Balzer from Charité, Prof. Krefting from the University of Göttingen, and Prof. Gersch from FU Berlin.
The German Research Foundation (DFG) is funding this project for its initial two years (2023 - 2025). Subsequently, there is an option to extend another three years (2025-2028). Due to DFG regulations, the position can only be advertised for the first two years at this stage. In this project, the focus of the Gersch working group at the FU Berlin is particularly on the analysis and support of the development of a digital, collaborative research platform that enables data-based cutting-edge research in the long term, even beyond the end of the project ("economic sustainability"). This includes, among other things, the analysis of international examples with regard to options for the design of digital (non-for-)profit business cases, as well as their typical development trajectories since their inception.

Martin Gersch's Professorship of Business Administration, Information, and Organization at the Department of Information Systems in the School of Business and Economics at Freie Universität Berlin has been conducting research for years on topics related to digitalization and the resulting change processes ("digital transformation").

In addition to his work at the Department of Information Systems, Prof. Dr. Martin Gersch is, among other things, the founder and coordinator of the Digital Entrepreneurship Hub, a mentor of various startups, and Principal Investigator for "Digital Transformation" at the Einstein Center Digital Future.
