Researcher within the Dorothea Schlözer Postdoctoral Programme for Women(all genders welcome)

to be filled. Starting date is 10/1/2024. The position is limited to 2 years.

The positions are awarded on the basis of a project proposal and aim to provide the opportunity to further develop independent research and prepare future third party funding. The development of an individual research profile and relevant academic skills is considered part of this process. The successful candidates will be supported in professional orientation and career development through appropriate offers.

Those eligible to apply are female postdocs, who are planning to conduct or are already conducting a research project at the Georg-August-University (including the University Medical Center) in one of the following faculties:

  •  Faculty of Law
  •  Faculty of Social Sciences
  •  Faculty of Business and Economics
  •  Faculty of Humanities
  •  Faculty of Theology
  •  Faculty of Medicine (UMG)

At the time of application, the doctorate must have been completed successfully. Preference will be given to candidates in the first postdoctoral phase, whose doctorate has been completed no longer than three years ago. However, application is also possible if the doctorate has been completed more than three years ago. If this is the case, the applicant should state the reasons why she is still to be assigned to the first postdoctoral phase. Periods of childcare and/ or care of relatives will be taken into account.

The Dorothea Schlözer Postdoc Programme is part of the Dorothea Schlözer Programme. The programme was set up by Göttingen University in April 2009 to promote equal opportunities and diversity amongst the staff at the Göttingen Campus. The positions will be awarded by the Presidential Board. There are options for part-time positions and contract extensions for scientists with caretaking responsibilities (for children or relatives).

By accepting the position, the position holder commits to reporting on her research progress regularly, taking up offers of further training opportunities (especially Dorothea Schlözer Career Coaching and Mentoring Programmes), and participating in evaluation procedures. The position also includes teaching responsibilities amounting to a maximum of four semester periods per week (research-oriented teaching as well as teaching that complements the teaching portfolio).
