Starting on 15 June 2024, our Department Survey Design & Methodology (SDM), located in Mannheim, is looking for a
Researcher in Survey Methodology/Data Analysis (postdoc)
(Salary group 13 TV-L, up to 90 % working time, limited until 14 September 2025)
The department Survey Design & Methodology (SDM) is both nationally and internationally recognized for its expertise in survey methodology, gained over many years by conducting own research as well as consulting on and implementing renowned survey projects.
The position is allocated in the DFG-funded project TransBack . The key task is to evaluate survey experiments with a focus on data quality and measurement equivalence, and in particular the extent to which differently prepared questionnaire translations affect data quality.
Your tasks will be:
- Planning and coordinating online surveys and data management
- Planning and carrying out analyses with a focus on data quality (item-based, scale-based, respondent-based) and measurement equivalence
- Presenting and publishing project results
- Statistical consulting within the project team
Your profile:
- PhD degree or advanced doctoral studies in social science or a related subject (e.g., political science, sociology, psychology)
- Very good knowledge of social science methods and in particular data analysis (experiences in R are required)
- Very good knowledge of English both written and spoken; knowledge of German is an advantage
- Interest in R routines, in simulations and/or experiences in cross-cultural research are an advantage
