The SFB 1270/2 ELAINE is a Collaborative Research Centre funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG). Its central research objectives are:

1. Establish innovative energy-autonomous implants that allow feedback-controlled electrical stimulation.

2. Efficient, systematic multi-scale studies to enable rapid progress in targeted implant improvements and patient-specific therapies.

3. Analyze the basic mechanisms of electrical and mechanical stimulation in bone, cartilage, and brain and translate this knowledge

    into clinical practice.

Our principal investigators and their teams will offer an inside view of their research field. It might optimally trigger your decision towards an academic career.

Requirements:
Being a female graduate or post-graduate in one of these fields:
Biomedical Engineering, Computational Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Material Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering

Optimally, you contact one of the principal investigators or (post-)doctoral researchers within the SFB 1270 ELAINE to discuss possible topics beforehand. However, you may also come up with your suggestion for a topic.

The Board members will select ten graduates and five post-graduate doctoral researchers to offer participation in our research. You will be informed of the outcome in due course.
