The Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1456 Mathematics of Experiment: The challenge of indirect measurements in the natural sciences at the Georg-August-University Göttingen started on January 1, 2021 and seeks to fill the position of a

Research Group Leader (f/m/d).

The research group will be embedded into an interdisciplinary environment of researchers from mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, and biology. It will be equipped with one PhD position (75% TV-L E13) for three years. Moreover, there is the opportunity to hire student assistants.
The position should be filled as soon as possible and ends on 31.12.2024. The salary is in accordance with the German public service salary scale (E14 TV-L). The position is offered with 100 % of the regular working hours.

About us:
The aim of CRC 1456 is to develop mathematical data analysis for the natural sciences, i.e. mathematical theory and tools to efficiently extract maximal quantitative information from experimental data. This challenge will be addressed in 16 projects which are all lead jointly by a mathematician and an experimental scientist. For more information we refer to the web page

Your profile:
- You hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in mathematics or a related discipline such as computer science or a natural science related to the CRC.
- You have a track record of excellent research, ideally related to data modelling and analysis in the natural sciences.
- You intend to collaborate with other groups in the CRC and contribute to its main goals.
- You are able to lead a small team of PhD and Master students.
- You are fully proficient in written and spoken English
