The Heinz-Nixdorf-Chair of Biomedical Electronics (https://www.ei.tum.de/en/lbe/home/) located at the TranslaTUM on the campus of Klinikum München rechts der Isar is looking for a research fellow to work on microfluidic fabrication and integrateable workflows. The candidate is expected to be passionate about new platform technologies for in vitro and in vivo diagnostics. With 300 employees in engineering and preclinical sciences, the central institute TranslaTUM (www.translatum.tum.de) in the immediate vicinity of the University Hospitals offers the rapid implementation of new findings and technologies in patient care. The Heinz-Nixdorf-Chair is a translationally working engineering group with an emphasis on inter- and transdisciplinary research work.

Requirements for the candidate • PhD degree in engineering or related biophysical disciplines • Experience in microfluidic fabrication and thin-film technologies, flow cytometry, and image analysis • Interested in learning novel sample preparation and data analysis methods • Transdisciplinary research environment between engineering, material science, life sciences, and clinical research • Lead a microfluidic fabrication facility • Strong communication skills in engineering and life sciences • Teaching of microfluidic and in vitro diagnostic courses
