Research Associate (m/f/d): Analyzing the interplay between psychological subfields and psychotherapy

(with option to pursue a PhD degree)

(salary group TV-L E13, 75 %, initially limited to 2 years).

Preferred start date is March 1, 2022 or later.

Duties and functions:

In the current reorganization of the research and training structure in psychology and psychotherapy, a closer collaboration between psychotherapy and subfields of psychology can facilitate a paradigm shift towards a framework beyond traditional schools of psychotherapy. In this context, a research project investigates the interplay between psychological subfields and psychotherapy. For this project, we are looking for a research associate conducting bibliometric analyses.

Tasks include:

  • Analyzing records of psychological literature databases (e.g., PSYNDEX, PsycInfo)
  • Applying text mining and network analysis techniques
  • Presenting at conferences and publishing in peer-reviewed journals
  • Optional: Pursuing and completing a PhD thesis

Your profile:

  • Master-level degree in psychology, statistics, computer science, or in a related area with a strong focus on research methods / statistics
  • Profound experience in the R programming language
  • Solid data management skills
  • Knowledge in the fields of psychotherapy, text mining, network analysis, or information retrieval is a plus
  • Profound German and English skills (spoken and written)
  • Distinct communication and presentation skills
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and independent working style
