Location: Chemnitz, SACHSEN

Within the EQUALITY project Fraunhofer ENAS does research on using quantum computers for the simulation of application-oriented tasks. We work on models for fuel cells and batteries by using classical simulation approaches and  analyze how good this models perform with novel quantum algorithms by our project partners on quantum machines.
Your task in this project is the development and extension of quantum chemical models by using electron structure theory. We welcome you to become part of our simulation team to develop digital models of materials and fabrication processes in challenging application scenarios.

What you will do

  • independent research and development  work on quantum chemical simulation of batteries and fuel cells in the project equality

  • akquisition, processing, and documentation of projects in the field of atomistic material models

  • active cooperation with project partners

  • scientific publications and participation on scientific conferences

What you bring to the table

  • a completed scientific university degree (TH, TU, U) in electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics or a comparable field
  • knowledge in numerical simulation
  • experiences in electronic structure theory
  • experiences in the quantum chemical simulation of materials for fuel cell and battery technology
  • experiences in scientific computing, espacially in using python on HPC-systems

What you can expect

  • Cooperation in a collegial, open-minded team in a well-equipped work environment
  • Personal and professional development opportunities in challenging R&D projects
  • Networking with first-class industrial partners and research groups
  • Flexible working hours and a family-friendly workplace
