The UMG Medical Data Integration Centre (UMG-MeDIC) is an independent working group within the Institute for Medical Informatics. In addition to the UMG-MeDIC, the strongly research-oriented institute bundles its projects and services in the scientific working groups of intersectoral collaborative research, translational research, biosignal processing and clinical decision support.

The Institute cooperates closely with partners from research, care and industry. More than 50 employees develop and evaluate innovative IT solutions for medical research. One focus is on the provision and operation of internationally usable information/data infrastructures and the sustainable availability of the research data generated therein in accordance with the FAIR Guiding Principles.

 The UMG-MeDIC is funded by the UMG and the BMBF as part of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII) in participation in the HiGHmed consortium with the aim of enabling and optimizing medical research and care through the local and cross-site provision of medical data from routine hospital care.

As we have several positions to fill in the UMG MeDIC, your area of responsibility will include, depending on your focus:

  • Participation in the further development of the UMG-internal integration of medical data from routine care
  • Participation in the further development of local and federated data provision at the interfaces of the MII
  • Participation in data modelling and data management on the basis of MII-wide and international data standards
  • Participation in the development and implementation of medical data analyses, among other things in the course of quality assurance and data provision

Your profile:

  • Degree in medical informatics or a comparable course of study, other science degrees are of interest, provided professional IT skills can be demonstrated
  • independent and structured way of working in a team
  • experience of working in IT projects is desirable, depending on the focus, relevant professional experience and the willingness to take on responsibility and solve new challenges
  • very good knowledge of German and English languages, both written and spoken
