Your responsibilities include:

Development and validation of a distributed fibre optic sensor based on backscatter effects in optical fibres for detection of temperature, strain and humidity and for condition monitoring of sealing constructions for underground waste disposal sites.


Your qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or comparable with a

    specialization in the field of optical communications technology /

    photonics; PhD degree is of advantage

  • Very good knowledge and experiences in the development and

    application of distributed fibre optic sensors for detection of

    temperature, strain and humidity

  • Very good knowledge and experiences in the development and

    application of fibre optic backscatter measurement methods (OTDR / OFDR / OBR)

  • Very good programming skills in Python
  • Very good knowledge and experience in signal processing
  • Good German and English knowledge, both written and spoken
  • Good communication and information skills, goal-oriented and structured way of working, initiative / commitment, ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate as well as conceptual, strategic and innovative thinking skills
