At the University of Göttingen -Public Law Foundation-, Institut für Informatik, there are 2 positions as

Research Assistant (f/m/d) (PhD positions)(all genders welcome)
Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L/100%

to be filled. Starting date is as soon as possible. The position is limited to three years. Part-time is also possible.


The Computer Networks Group is working on the design, modeling, implementation and evaluation of networked systems and data analytics, and has been funded by a number of EU, state and industry-sponsored projects.
Your duties:

  • working on the area of smart cities, edge computing and/or big data analytics
  • collaborate with other colleagues and project partners
  • performing and publishing high quality research on international conferences and journals
  • assistance on courses corresponding § 31 NHG and performance tests

Your profile:
  • very good master degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related disciplines
  • good programming knowledge (e.g. JAVA, Python, R, …)
  • good knowledge and working experience on network/distributed systems and/or machine learning/data analytics techniques
  • experiences working with UAV/drones and/or video camera would be surplus
  • proficiency in English and good in German (similar to A2 level of Goethe Institute Certificate) is expected
  • excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
