The Department of Molecular Wood Biotechnology and Technical Mycology at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is looking to fill the position of a

Research Assistant (f/m/d)

This position is starting from 01.10.2021. The regular working hours will be (currently 39.8 hours per week) with a contract limited of a period of 3 year(s), with option of extension. Salary: Pay grade 13 TV-L.

Tasks: The position's duties include self-organized participation in and further developing of research of the department in the fields of fungal development, wood decay and/or biotechnology of fungal enzymes. This post is designed to foster young researchers and scientist and gives the successful applicant the opportunity to pursue a post-doctoral degree. The successful candidate is expected to diversity specific teach in the fields of wood biotechnology, forest botany, molecular biology and/or mycology as defined in Section 31 of the Higher Education Act of Lower Saxony (NHG).

Qualifications: Master and PhD in biology, biochemistry, forestry, agriculture or related fields. Knowledge in molecular biology/genetics, microbiology/mycology, enzymology and/or bioinformatics (sequence analyses, proteomics) is of advantage, as well as an international post-doctoral phase.
