Offer Description

The chair of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Building E3D focuses on the energy modeling and simulation of buildings and urban districts, the development of numerical models, Building Information Modeling (BIM), the modeling and simulation of building physics processes, energy monitoring and research into user behavior and thermal ergonomics, including physiology and sensor technology for measuring indoor environmental quality. An interdisciplinary team at the chair conducts research in the field of basic and industry-oriented research, and there is an extensive network of international contacts. Unique test facilities for researching indoor environmental quality and testing of façade components exist in the chair's testing facility.

For the BMWK-funded project "PECSnet" we are looking for a research assistant/associate (f/m/d). The project is focusing the energetic evaluation of local climatization systems for controlling the environmental conditions. The focus is on thermal conditions, but lighting or ventilation can also be integrated. In addition to helping to put together such a system in collaboration with the project partners from research and industry, you will primarily investigate how well the local systems are suited to maintaining a comfortable ambient climate. The second major aspect is researching which user data, such as thermal preferences, personal characteristics or feedback, can be used to develop the control algorithm. You will be involved in the development of the interface as part of the project. Through the international research association IEA EBC Annex, you will have the opportunity for intensive exchange with researchers worldwide.

Your Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct research of the project's work packages on the energy efficiency of the system, the data requirements and participation in the interface development
  • Collaboration in the project team and cooperation with national and international scientists and colleagues from various disciplines
  • Presentation and publication of research results at national and international conferences and in high-ranking international journals
  • Supporting teaching and institute operations, to a lesser extent also administrative tasks
