The research group of Professor Tobias Plieninger on "Social-ecological Interactions in Agricultural Systems" is looking for a research assistant (EG 13 TV-L - 65%) for a period of three years. The research group investigates the interface between ecological and social sciences, drawing on concepts of sustainability science and social-ecological systems. Our research is collaborative and interdisciplinary, focusing on ecosystem services, landscape management, and sustainability transformations This broad scope allows for the analysis of various trade-offs and synergies between agricultural and forestry production, biodiversity, and multiple ecosystem services. The group is involved in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our department is jointly supported by University of Kassel and Georg-August-Universität Göttingen.
Your tasks
•  Performance of teaching activities and supervising bachelor and master theses;
•  Assistance in the preparation of new grant applications;
•  Assistance with additional day‐to‐day aspects of facilitating smooth collaboration within the research group; and
•  Performance of social-ecological research and preparation of a cumulative PhD thesis on a topic agreed with Prof. Plieninger
Your profile
•  University degree (Master or equivalent) in agriculture, forestry, natural resource management, environmental social science or related fields
•  Knowledge of social-ecological research concepts and participatory research methods
•  First experiences in teaching and in academic publishing
•  Excellent written and oral German and English communication skills
•  Experience in working in an interdisciplinary team environment
